americana, e’ in tour in giro per l’Europa. Per l’occasione Collane di
Ruggine e Elemento di disturbo hanno dato alla luce due piccoli
libretti con la traduzione di alcune interviste fatte da Margaret ad
alcuni scrittori anarchici di letteratura fantastica.
Da Ursula Le Guin ad Alan Moore, da MIchael Moorcock al Professor
Calamity, un’interessantissimo scambio di vedute sulla lettura
fantastica e sull’anarchismo.

L’ Arte Dei Rumori

Il pittore Luigi Russolo creò l’arte dei rumori e presentò al pubblico d’Italia, a Parigi e a Londra la prima orchestra di intonarumori inventata e costruita da lui, fissandone i principi in questo manifesto.

<< L’evoluzione della musica è parallela al moltiplicarsi delle macchine che collaborano con l’uomo.
NOI VOGLIAMO INTONARE E REGOLARE ARMONICAMENTE E RITMICAMENTE QUESTI SVARIATISSIMI RUMORI.
Ogni rumore ha un tono, talora anche un accordo che predominerà nell’insieme delle sue vibrazioni irregolari.

Ora da questo caratteristico tono predominante deriva la possibilità pratica di intonarlo, di dare cioè ad un dato rumore non un solo tono, ma una certa variatè di toni, senza perdere la sua caratteristica, voglio dire il timbro che lo distingue.
Così alcuni rumori ottenuti con un movimento rotativo possono offrire una intera scala cromatica ascendente o discendente se si aumenta o diminuisce la velocità del movimento.
Benché la caratteristica del rumore sia di richiamarci bruscamente alla vita, L’ARTE DEI RUMORI NON DEVE LIMITARSI A UNA PRODUZIONE IMITATIVA.
Essa attingerà la sua maggiore facoltà di emozione nel godimento acustico di sè stesso, che l’ispirazione dell’artista saprà trarre dai rumori combinati. >>

In the light of the 50th anniversary of Naked Lunch, a book
that is as relevant now as it ever was, this program attempts to
encourage a new public appreciation of the author and the work through
a weekend of critical analysis and public readings. The historic,
literary, socio-political, and biographic elements shall be explored
bringing contemporary readers closer to this important author and his
greatest novel. Brought together will be poets, writers, scholars,
artists, and musicians in an attempt to plumb the depths of this
seminal and on the whole “revolutionary” work.

We will explore the influence of the Beats upon Burroughs — the
literary connection and friendship with Allen Ginsberg and Jack
Kerouac. Also explored will be how Naked Lunch relates to Howl and On the Road. Other themes that will be discussed: The trial of Naked Lunch and the obscenity issue. Drugs and Naked Lunch
and Burroughs. Burroughs as a father of the counterculture — influence
on Lou Reed, Stones, Patti Smith, punk. Burroughs as an experimental
writer of the avant garde — connections to surrealism, use of the
cut-up.
