banned in D.C.

Bad Brains live @ CBGB, 1982

Banned in D.C. with a thousand more places to go
Gonna swim the Atlantic, cause that’s the only place I can go

You, you can’t hurt me
Why?! I’m banned in D.C.

We, we got ourselves, gonna sing it, gonna love it, gonna work it out to any length
No worry, don’t worry, about what people say
We got ourselves, we gonna make it anyway

You, you can’t hurt me
Why? I’m banned in D.C.

And if you ban us from your clubs, it’s the right time, with the right mind
And if you think we really care, then you won’t find in my mind

Noooo! You can’t afford, to close your doors, so soon no more
My oh my i lay you down upon the ground so soon no more
Nooo you can’t afford to close your doors so soon no more
My oh my i let you down upon the ground

In cold blood

Johnny Thunders “In Cold Blood”

Well, I was raised in the street
A city boy if you please
I probably forgot more, than you’ll ever be
No doubt about it

You gotta (bop?) down, down the street Hey!
You afraid of those creeps?
Guardian angles are what we need
New York city police are so sweet

In cold blood
In cold blood

Well you probably think i’m pretty mad
just because i like it down there
well don’t you worry dear
you’ll never end up dead

in cold blood

Well no one here gets out alive
livin’ here its suicide
Avenue A you might survive
Riverton you’ll finally die

in cold blood
in cold blood

rest in peace

Derrick May – intervista

Sunday, December 5th, 2010

“When i first started i was a deejay. I had no idea i would make music. I used to be with Juan, Jaun Atkins, we were kids man, but i’ve learned more of the things fundamentals that stayed with me all my life. When i watched him i was able to understand how to “feel” the air, how not just to breathe the air, but “feel” the air. I learned the philosophy of how to make records speak to each other, how to make records sing to each other, how to make records talk to each other, how to make music out of music. And that philosophy of making music with music, with records, was something i’ve carried over into my idea of making music as well.”

Black Sabbath

What is this that stands before me?
Figure in black which points at me
Turn around quick, and start to run
Find out I’m the chosen one
Oh nooo!

Big black shape with eyes of fire
Telling people their desire
Satan’s sitting there, he’s smiling
Watches those flames get higher and higher
Oh no, no, please God help me!

Is it the end, my friend?
Satan’s coming ’round the bend
People running ’cause they’re scared
The people better go and beware!
No, no, please, no!

Andrea Parkins alle Murate 2 dic 2010

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010
